First Serious Complaint

It's two o'clock in the morning - a very Happy New Year to everyone - and participants are disgruntled to find that we're being kicked out of the party venue. We're sure there is a good reason, in light of the otherwise excellent organization ... for the moment, however, we're a little sad and will have to take apart the hotel bar instead.

Isa, Jens, and I are off to the Clarion Hotel ... I shall moreover have a look at the Jury's Hotel parties later ...

Cheers!

Happy New Year to you. Thanks for keeping us informed throughout the championship-and congratulations on your ruthless efficiency in posting.

Socials are substandard here. Budweiser every night is not what I expected from Ireland. And kicking everyone out at 2am on a New Year's night is also sh%t. Carlsberg is neither Irish nor New Year drink also. Cider was ok, though.

Irish licencing laws prevent a social that goes much later, and, to be honest, if the drink is free, and it is, beggars cant be choosers. Bud and carlsberg are popular beers.....

Every worlds seems to have these problems. At least you get alcohol in Ireland, I remember something about the laws in British Columbia...

Beggars can't be choosers, indeed. And whatever happened to good old fashioned hotel room parties with my good old friend Mr. Big Bottle of Jameson, which is produced at Middleton just outside Cork? Or Cork Dry Gin and some tonic bought from the supermarket around the corner?
